June 27 - Club Members Marry - Congratulations of Melissa Broussard and William Ashley Biskamp, who were married in Crockett on June 27, 2009. They will make their home in Alba, Texas, north of Tyler. Melissa teaches at John Tyler High School and Ashley works in Mineola.
June 27 - Robert Duncan's Team in Middle of the Pack at Firma Sprint Adventure Race. Robert Duncan's team finished in the middle of the pack in the all-male division in the Firma Sprint Adventure Race at Huntsville State Park on June 27. Their time was 2:12:21. The events were a 3-mile run, 9-mile Mt. bike, 2-mile kayak and mystery events.
June 21 - Mary Sweeten 2nd Female at Sunday Night 5K. Mary Sweeten placed 2nd in the Sunday Night 5K in The Woodlands on June 21, 2009. Her time was 34:33.

May 15 -SHRC Members on Winning Teams at Beach to Bay. Adam Jackson and Ben Harvie were both on winning teams at the Beach to Bay Marathon Relay in Corpus Christi on May 15, 2009. Adam was on the Lechero's Tornados team, which placed 1st in the Men Masters category. The 6-member team ran the distance in 2:40:04. Ben Harvie was on the Retention Bonus team in the Senior Men Masters category. They were first place with a time of 2:51:18. Congratulations to both teams.

March 15 - Ken Johnson Completes the Seabrook Lucky Trail Marathon. Ken Johnson completed the Seabrook Lucky Trail Marathon in Seabrook on March 15, with a time of 5:50:15. This was Ken's 6th marathon in as many months. It also earned for him the Texas Triple jacket for the second year in a row. This a awarded to any runner who completes the Texas Marathon in Kingwood in January, the Surfside Beach Marathon in February and the Seabrook Lucky Trail Marathon in March. SHRC member, Jon Walk, served as the race announcer.
March 14 - Hans Jaeger Completes Yeagle Trail Marathon. Congratulations to Hans Jaeger for completing the Yeagle Trail Marathon In Ruston, Louisiana on March 14, 2009. His time was 6:39:52. Hans' description of the course: "COLD (low 40's), MUDDY and slippery CLAY, and WET....it included about a thousand short steep hills, jumping creeks, climbing through a fallen tree and wading through foot-deep freezing water....not good for my old knees and toes."
March 14 - Ben Harvie Wins Age Group at Bayou City Classic. Ben Harvie finished the Bayou City Classic 10K in Houston on March 14 in a time of 39:55. This placed him first among the 32 runners in his 60-64 age group. Congratulations, Ben.
March 14 - Holden Choi Runs Well at RTW. Holden Choi finished the Run the Woodlands 5K in The Woodlands on March 14 in a time of 24:22.
March 8 - SHRC Members Participate in the Texas Independence Relay. Nine members of the Seven Hills Running Club participated in the Texas Independence Relay on March 7 and 8, 2009. This is a 203.2 mile relay race, starting in Gonzales and ending at the San Jacinto Monument. Robin Kaitschuck and Misty Baugh ran with the Asphalt Assault Team and they finished in 34:40:01. They placed 146 of 150 teams completing the relay. SHRC's Jon Walk, fielded two teams, The Battling Bloggers of the Texas Republic #1 and #2. Holden Choi was one of 11 on the #1 team and they finished in 30:34:05. They placed 83rd. The 11-member #2 team included SHRC members, Jon Walk, Adrienne Langelier, Ken Johnson, Norman Langwell, Katy Lampson and Natali Davis. They finished in 115th place with a time of 32:14:05. Thanks to SHRC members, Melissa Stelter and Wavery Walk for making the trip and providing assistance to the teams. Our sympathy to Edwin Quarles and his family on the loss of his father on March 7. Edwin had been scheduled to participate in the relay.

February 22 - John Slate Represents the SHRC at the Run Wild Half Marathon. John Slate was the sole member of the SHRC at the Run Wild Half Marathon in Houston on February 22, 2009. He ran the course in 1:49:18.
February 15 - Ben Harvie Wins Age Group at Austin. Ben Harvie, 62, won his age group at the Austin Marathon on February 15, 2009. His time was 3:16:59. Katy Lampson finished the half in 2:27:23. Doug Dretke finished the half marathon in 2:30:44 and Dee Dee Dretke finished in 3:17:20. Congratulations to all.
February 14 - Andrew and Karen Husband Complete the East Texas Ultra Runners 25K. Andrew and Karen Husband completed the East Texas Ultra Runners 25K trail run at the Tyler State Park on February 14, 2009. They endured the hills, rocks and switchbacks and both finished in 3:36:21.

January 1 - Five SHRC Members Complete the Texas Marathon. Five members completed the 10th Annual Texas Marathon in Kingwood on January 1, 2009. They were awarded a 2.2 pound finisher medal, the largest ever awarded for a marathon in the U. S. The course is four loops on a concrete walkway through the Green Belt in Kingwood. Waverly Walk did a great job singing the National Anthem and working as a race volunteer. Bill Dwyer was also there to support the SHRC runners. SHRC finishers:
